Refresher Train the Trainer Course - a practical, advanced training program for trainers

This Train the Trainer Refresher Program is conducted in Melbourne by Derek Stockley. This is an advanced program for people who have already attended some form of Train the Trainer program, for example, the: two day public trainer the trainer course in Melbourne or Sydney that is also conducted by Derek Stockley.

The public course covers advanced training techniques for people wanting to extend their practical training skills and experience. If desired, a program can be organised for you in-house - see in-house training request page or learn more about inhouse training at: in-house training explanation.

This advanced Train the Trainer course is designed for participants who want to develop and refine their training competencies. It is specifically designed for those who have had some "formal" train the trainer participation.

The need for further training could have been precipitated by a variety of factors:

An absence from training activities in recent times.
A new initiative requiring extensive employee or staff training.
Moving into a new field of operation.
A situation requiring a different training approach and style.
Further professional development requirements.
The need for more practical training experience.
The desire to ensure that training skills are current and "leading edge".

Whatever the reason, this course offers the opportunity to practice and refine training skills.

A variety of factors lead to the need for refresher training

Advanced Train the Trainer - Program Outline

The program involves both pre and post course work. Derek will work with each participant prior to the training. Each participant will prepare a practice training session for presentation on the day. This session will be reviewed by Derek and other participants. The remainder of the day will be spent reviewing key training techniques and strategies. Each participant will have a personal development plan for individual study after the course.

The program involves attendance on one training day. Additional research and training session preparation is required before the training day. This blended learning approach provides additional opportunities for participant knowledge development.

Key content of the program includes:

Current learning and training trends
The training cycle today
The various training roles
Incorporating team development to maximise training effectiveness
Targeting learning at the right level

Research/Preparation

Each participant will design and prepare training material to be presented on the training day. Participants will present training sessions to Derek and their fellow participants. Each session is reviewed and evaluated. The practical sessions form a base for further development and learning. After the training, participants will carry out additional research relevant to their learning needs.
